Kolo in vreteno crngrobskega vodnjaka povsem zadošča svoji uporabi, a ker smo navajeni masivnih, izgleda ta vodnjak pretanek in slaboten.

Together with classical architecture: the church in Crngrob has a Romanesque origin with Gothic additions, it is entirely functional architecture – the well, undoubtedly vernacular architecture, the fruit of both trained and unschooled masters. Elsewhere in Slovenia, precisely because of untrained master builders wells are mainly pre-dimensioned. Because little wood is used, this is not as important as it appears today. The wheel and spindle of the Crngrob well is entirely sufficient for its use but, because we are accustomed to more massive ones, this well appears too slender and weak. However, if the development of the Romanesque is understood as the mastery of intellect over materials, it is understandable. The well in Crngrob certainly represents eminent coexistence of the classical and simplicity.
